making my homepage
9/23/2012 17:05
I'm totally new to this... some of the language is still new to me also... I have the basic web hosting and have a domain name. I've creating my homepage through software that I have. I've successfully gotten it to my dynadot page (FTP?) and I can see the file but it has an extension name (.com/homepage) How do I get my page to show up at just the regular domain name withought the extension? I hope this makes sense... like I said I'm totally new to this and its quite confusing.

Can you please point your domain to your Basic Hosting so we can take a look at how the page displays?

My domain is registered at Dynadot and I also use your Email plan. How do I configure my domain to my Email package?

To use your Email plan, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Dynadot account.
  2. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and then click "Manage Domains" in the drop-down.
  3. Check the box next to your domain name(s) and click on the "Action" button.
  4. Choose "Email Settings" from the "Action" list.
  5. Select "Dynadot Email Hosting" from the list of choices (we no longer sell new Advanced Hosting plans).
  6. Press the "Save Email Settings" button to save your changes.
  7. You should now see "Dynadot Email Hosting" listed alongside your domain on the "Manage Domains" in your Dynadot account.

Please be aware that it might take some time for your name server changes to propagate.

Please delete the default index.html file so that we can view your page rather than the ' future website of:' page.

Ok. I deleted that page. I'm not sure how to make a page be my homepage though? How will it know what page to use as the default page?
