New Biz IDN Languages
We just added IDN support for BIZ domain names. German is available now, and the rest will be available on Nov 1. However, Dynadot support for all these languages is already done. DA Danish DE German IS Icelandic NO Norwegian ES Spanish SV Swedish

The new BIZ IDN language extensions (DA, IS, NO, ES, SV) are launching November 1st at 8am UTC (12am PST). We are now accepting pre-orders for the new BIZ IDN language extensions. Just search for the domains you want, and place an order. Our system will automatically try to register your domain at 8am UTC on Nov 1. We will attempt to register all pre-ordered domains in a round robin loop. There will probably be competition for the obvious domains, so we cannot guarantee that we will get your domain. If we do not, you will receive a Dynadot account credit. There will be no refunds for pre-ordered domains. The price for a pre-order is $7.99 per domain. http://www.dynadot.com/domain/search2.html [This post has been edited by dynadot_staff on Oct 30, 2006 17:11.]

Is the 'first pre-ordered' domain the one who has the best shot or is this like a lottery? Also, with the round robin, will the first person get the best chance of all domains registered? Or will you try one each per person to spread the wealth? Finally, when will we be notified of success or failure and credited (I am not so optimistic)? Sorry, there was a bug in the IDN search. You should be able to search BIZ IDN's using the regular IDN search. Bulk search still works too.

Starting a few minutes before Nov 1, 8am UTC, we will start trying to get the domains. We will loop through all the domains in the pre-order list. So it depends on when they activate the language, and where in the loop we are when that happens. So it will be somewhat random who gets what domain. We can already see in the pre-orders that lots of you are trying to get the same obvious domains. Obviously only one of you can get it. Not to mention some other registrar might get it too. Probably the name grabbing registrars will be slamming the servers.

Account credits for failed registrations should be done about an hour after the launch, possibly sooner.

You can set your username from inside the account area. Click in the "My Info" tab. http://www.dynadot.com/account All INFO IDNs must be at least 3 characters long. This is an Afilias registry rule. Status update: we are updating the server software with some optimizations in preparation for the launch period. Less than 2 hours to go...

If the order status is "Processing", then the payment was successful. If the order status is "Waiting for Payment", then the payment was not successful.

I tried from a different registrar to hedge my bets. Most good ones are UNAVAILABLE and the Available ones are not registering. I have maxed out two credit cards (authorizations) already. I even tried ones that were so-so to see if they would go through. Nothing. Nada. Someone is getting them, but not us or any other registrars I have tried. Added: Some show: domain registration xn--espaa-rta.biz (example) result Not Available Others show: Problem Some show: Pending Sunrise [This post has been edited by jerry on Nov 1, 2006 00:40.]

I tried those earlier (by hand, other registrar). First they wouldn't register (tried several times). Now unavailable. Some that I have on preorder show Pending Sunrise but I know they are unavailable. I checked. I should have just gone to bed hours ago. What a wreck. I just saw that and was going to post. Same guy gets all the good ones? Next time I go with Tucows. That's who Paul Gordon used. Added: Not just Spain and Spanish. And he got loan, loans, credit.... I am sick. [This post has been edited by jerry on Nov 1, 2006 01:00.]

Fast fingers? Yeah, right. Yes, and nearly my entire list of high dollar domains (English, babies, etc. and the top adult ones too) all went to PG with Tucows. Gary from the UK got a few good ones, it seems. I thought this was supposed to take a few minutes and then we'd know? All I know if most of mine are still pending sunrise and were unavailable a while ago. Added: I tried regging some but probably shouldn't have used the bulk search. Showed available but still haven't processed yet. Is it always this bad? I assumed I would get something. Even my andalucía.biz is showing available and it is MINE MINE MINE!!! heee hee hee haw haw haw OK - I am officially tired at 4:30AM [This post has been edited by jerry on Nov 1, 2006 01:28.]

I am starting to see registrations populate my account!! One dozen and counting!! I even got a couple of good ones!! Of course, they were all from the Bulk Reg I ordered a few minutes ago. The rest are still sucking wind. Added: LOVELY! Of all my preorders, I got ZERO! Thank goodness I started registering some 'preordered domains' by hand or I would have NADA! NOTHING! ZERO! Now I have a lovely credit! What a wonderful experience. [This post has been edited by jerry on Nov 1, 2006 03:07.]

All the pre-orders have been processed. Here is the summary of results: 275 TOTAL pre-orders 109 SUCCESS registered successfully for a Dynadot customer 113 FAILED registered by another registrar 26 FAILED taken by another Dynadot customer 27 FAILED charset problems Of the 113 failed pre-order that were taken by another registrar, about half of these were for the same 5 high-demand domains. The 27 charset problem domains were because some customers submitted domains with unsupported characters. For example, there were Portuguese characters in some domains. The result code in your account order log will tell you the result for each pre-order: "Registered": the domain was successfully registered "Not Available": the domain was registered by another registrar "Cancelled": the domain was taken by another Dynadot customer "Charset Problem": there was a problem with the chars in the domain

So if the email says it was registered, and it was in my account, and the WHOIS had my info in it, and I parked it and received page views, and suddenly it vanished from my account later in the day....? Just curious...

This happened to a bunch of ppl. You should have gotten an email. Dynadot put it in multiple accounts by accident and then gave it to the one who caught it first in the round robin.

Does that mean anyone actually caught anything in the Round Robin? Mine were all hand registered long before the preorder failed.

We did discover some bugs in our system during the pre-order process. Some domains were placed into two accounts due to all the parallel processing that was going on. When that happened, we checked the registry logs and gave the domain to the order that registered it first. We apologize for the problems. We understand that some customers are justifiably upset. This was our first pre-order attempt, and we did learn a lot of things. Our system was overloaded with all the orders trying to process at the same time. We have improved the system, and hopefully we will get even better results for you next time.

We asked Neulevel for you, and here is their response: "The plan is to expand the IDN selection in .BIZ to include JP/CN/KR in the very near future, although there is no time-line yet. We will update the registrar community as more information becomes available."
